Exhibition on security gadgets

PUNE: Security gadgets, including explosive detectors, body scanners and surveillance CCTVs, will be on display at an exhibition to be held by the Centre for Police Research (CPR) on March 6. The three-day exhibition, to be held at the Shivajinagar police headquarters, hopes to make the public aware of the importance of such equipment and benefit corporate houses which want to incorporate foolproof security arrangements. According to CPR executive director S P S Yadav, this is the firAdd Imagest such exhibition in the state and will be held in association with MCCIA and Nasscom. It will be inaugurated by additional chief secretary Chitkala Zutshi (home department). Other equipment on display will include cargo scanners, metal detectors, baggage X-ray scanners, vehicle scanning systems, biometric access control, remote monitoring, perimeter surveillance systems, smoke detection systems and alarms. Bullet proof vests, helmets and vehicles will also be featured. The CPR has appealed to private firms involved in manufacturing safety and security gadgets to rent out a stall at the venue. The CPR will soon publish a souvenir and a directory with detailed information of firms involved in manufacturing security gadgets.
